Excellent post Jennifer!

"Folks, our actions should show them Jesus! We should be living our lives in such a way that people see HIM when they look at us. We are called to be salt and light to a lost and dying world - something that is hard to do when our lives are no different than theirs, and is especially hard when we are behaving with less self control or morality."

Amen! Amen!

Eyes on Jesus. Focus on his words, his ways, his actions, his death, and his life. That is our standard. We hold others, who we have relationships with, accountable to that standard, but in complete grace and love, just as Jesus has done for us.

Peace and grace in Christ,

David - that is one of the key questions I think. Where do we get that accountability? Hopefully our home churches embrace this same idea and move forward as a body, but sadly, that isn't the usual case.

Perhaps it is time to take it to a different level?

I know you are involved in LifeGroup Online, and many people are involved on other groups that meet up via the internet. Is it truly time to start having internet churches? Possibly. Should they replace meeting together? Breaking bread together? I don't think so, but I do think they can enhance our walk by bringing in new viewpoints and opinions. New insight to the same passage that can open out eyes to it in a new way.

Something to think about...

I'm really liking all the rising up that's taking place in people's hearts about being a true disciple of Christ.

How do we run with it and become accountable to each other? Are our local churches the right place? I know they should be, but so many are so dysfunctional it's easy to see why they alienate people.

Something online?

Or do we self-monitor....?

Hmmmm....I know where that last option always ends up, and so does God, which is why He created church/discipleship/etc in the first place.
