Living In A Snowed-In, Disease-Ridden House
Ugh. No, really. Is it just me, or does it seem like the various forms of “the crud” are not only getting worse, but they are coming at us faster and faster?
Someone in the house has been sick since before Christmas. At least one person at a time, but usually 2-3. And the colds are getting progressively worse. Mo has missed at least 1 day of school each week for the past 4, Nani has missed almost as many, and they are both home again today – and running fevers. It’s the Nani-girl’s birthday tomorrow, and she won’t be going to school… again. That means no cupcakes for the class, no birthday celebration with her friends at school. Bummer!
On top of that, we keep getting snowed on! Yes, it is March 9th, and I am watching a blizzard fall from the sky outside my window… in a place that doesn’t usually see more that one snow day per winter. I’ve lost count of the show storms we have had this season! I mean Spring had sprung! Flowers were blooming, trees were budding… now I’m just hoping that the snow doesn’t kill them.
I have also been caught by the crud… skimming the surface mostly until last weekend. Then I caught one that laid me out cold. I made it through singing last Sunday (barely) and came home and slept. That was a week ago… and I still have it. Yes, I went to the Dr, they gave me stuff for the double ear infections (the meds are gone, the ears aren’t clear yet) but it’s a virus, so there isn’t anything else they can do. I haven’t been able to hear for 6-7 days now. THAT is frustrating. Carrying on a normal conversation is out of the question… I won’t be able to hear. I can’t hear the girls (somewhat of a blessing!) or Eric, and I can’t hear the music that is blaring out of the speakers… not well enough to recognize the words anyway. Then there is the coughing… I woke up at 3:30 yesterday morning & coughed about every 3-5 minutes until I finally fell back to sleep around 8:15. Poor Eric, he has to attempt to sleep next to that!
I HATE being sick.
Well, that’s my whine for the day. Anybody found the cure for the common cold yet? Please try… I want to hear again!

I am awfully tired of this weather—and feeling under it! I can totally relate to waht you are saying. Hopefully we will all feel healthier when spring finally arrives.
