Sunday Setlist 2-22 Part 1
Yes, it’s once again the last Sunday of the month, hard to believe I know! So, I will be posting in 2 parts today, since we are having 2 services.
This mornings service went well, especially considering how many of us are sick. We did the following songs:
- Come, Now is the Time to Worship
- Meet With Me
- Draw Me Close
- Grace Like Rain
- Children’s message
- Let’s Get Together
- announcements
- message – Hospitality
- Grace Like Rain reprise…
Yep, you read that right. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Everyone was very talkative this morning, so we finally just started singing at 3 after… they caught on pretty quick at that point. That was after attempting to greet everyone a couple of times… I guess it’s a good thing, as it means that we like each other!
Draw Me Close is apparently a new song for us… we did it quite a lot at my old church, so I figured we had done it too. Oh well. The congregation knew it, so it worked out well. People were lifting their hands and voices and worshiping, so the ultimate goal was met! Grace Like Rain had the same reaction – either lifting hands and worshiping or clapping and praising. It was great.
Then we had the children’s message on how we can reach out to our neighbors through hospitality. Getting together with our brothers and sisters at church so that we are filled up and warmed up to go out and reach a lost world.
Then we (very quickly) sang “Lets Get Together” – yes, the one from the original Parent Trap, and re-done by the Go-Go’s. God is teaching me to stop being a smart mouth… ’cause people keep taking me seriously. Yep. We skipped the bridge, so it was short and sweet!
The kids went to their class, we had announcements (Choir starts next week!) and Pastor Chris shared his message on reaching out to our neighbors in this time of need, even when it hurts our pocketbook. The message should be up by Monday night here, if you are interested.
We finished up with the 1st verse and chorus of Grace Like Rain… and my voice was finished. Thank goodness Chris was singing too!
Yes, I was one of the ones who is not feeling 100% today. I have a cold that doesn’t seem to want to go away, despite all of my efforts. Pastor Chris had the flu last week (as did the majority of our home group – we canceled!), Taya was home sick and Eric was home sick. The remainder of the afternoon will be devoted to rest before I head back to church in about an hour and 15 minutes…
Have a great Sunday!

Funny when you think you’ve done songs that haven’t been. Draw Me Close is one we sometimes do as part of our Worship+ soaking times…but it’s been years since it would be part of a ‘normal’ service. I might have to rectify that…
Draw me Close is one of my all-time faves. It’s a “deep reservoir” for me and brings back memories of a season in my life where I was encountering the presence of God in such a real way every day … oh yeah!

Love Grace Like Rain. My brother and I used to rock that one when we were out on tour.
Sweet list this week.
hey, hope you get to feeling 100% better soon!
Looks like a great day! How long have you been leading at this ministry?
Lori – I’ve been leading since August, and with this team since last February. It was a pretty good day, although I must admit that I had “Let’s Get Together” in my head all afternoon…
Russ – Grace Like Rain is a GREAT one to rock out on! A few people were unsure when I introduced it, but once we started singing through it they LOVED it.
Jan – I hope I get 100% soon too. At tonights service I actually had my voice cut out. Not the best thing, but it worked out.
