Yeah, it was cool to hear her - but there were some giggles and hidden laughter from those in the pews near her 'cause she wasn't entirely on key (but very, VERY LOUD). Odd, since she's usually the one with rhythm & pitch that are dead on.

And the harmony thing? That's a CONSTANT battle for me. For the past 20 years I have been a "background singer" for worship teams. I was the one who harmonized everything to the point that I honestly don't know the melody for some songs! That has been a challenge for me, but I'm starting to figure out ways to fix it. 1) I'm doing new music that I don't already know (ha!) and 2) I'm making other team members lead more and more often so I can step back into the shadows (where I really prefer to be!). Well,, that and just sucking it up and re-learning the melody. ;)

Things I love about this post : your kid singing her heart out, singing harmony even when you're trying not to, and songs which encourage worship.

We tried doing it at their speed, but BOTH the guitar players weren't too happy about it. Neither was the drummer... and quite honestly, slowing it down just a tad makes it sooo much easier to sing (you can actually sneak a breath in occasionally!)

Thanks for stopping by!
